Summarizing the results of 2023 on the activities of the joint project of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and the Public Health Alliance "TB-Free Kyiv Region", we want to emphasize the importance of TB prevention and screening in the daily life of every person.

In 2023, 390 clients received an individual consultation with a TB doctor and underwent the necessary TB tests as part of the TB Contact Tracing program. The examinations were conducted by our regular project partners: Kyiv Regional Specialized Medical Center. Among those examined, 23 TB patients were identified and all started anti-TB treatment.

What should you do if you find out that you have been in contact with a TB patient? In order to find out about their health status, a contact person can contact their family doctor or a TB doctor for additional examination. This examination includes a tuberculosis screening questionnaire, HIV testing, and an X-ray or chest x-ray. We wish you good health in the new year.
