Official position on the illegal activity of the Belarusian Red Cross in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

The Ukrainian Red Cross categorically condemns the actions of the Belarusian Red Cross regarding their activities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

This is due to the fact that the story "CHILDREN OF WAR"/"CHILDREN OF WAR" appeared on the national TV channel "Belarus 1", where the general secretary of the Belarusian Red Cross Dmytro Shevtsov/Dmitryi Shevtsov visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, namely Mariupol, Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, with an alleged humanitarian mission.

In this story, the Secretary General emphasizes the active participation of the Belarusian Red Cross in the deportation of children from the territories of Ukraine.

In addition, on the eve of the release of the plot, information appeared in Telegram channels about Shevtsov's previous trips to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, where he was in camouflage and with a chevron with the symbol "Z" on his sleeve.

The above-mentioned actions confirm the conscious position of the Belarusian Red Cross regarding the maintenance of the policy of child abduction and the legalization of Russian aggression against Ukraine. This testifies not only to the organization's willful disregard of its statutory obligations within the framework of the International Movement, but also to its commission of serious violations of international humanitarian law.

We call on the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross and all national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to condemn the participation of the Belarusian Red Cross in the deportation of Ukrainian children and their actions within the internationally recognized state borders of Ukraine, to consider the exclusion of the Belarusian Red Cross from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement this one.
