The reporting and election conference of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine took place

On October 21, 2025, a reporting and election conference of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine for the period from 2022 to 2025 was held in Irpin.

The event was attended by 20 delegates from seven local organizations, representatives of the National Committee, government authorities, volunteers, and partners.

Among the guests of honor were:
Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the National Committee of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine;
Tetiana Semenova, Deputy Chair of the Kyiv Regional Council;
Ihor Meshchan, Head of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, Ihor Prokopenko, who welcomed the delegates and guests and thanked the volunteers and employees for their dedicated work under martial law.

The report by the organization's chairman emphasized that the Society's activities in the region remain an example of coordinated humanitarian work even in the face of extraordinary challenges.

Among the main achievements for the period 2022–2025 are:
1. Humanitarian aid was provided to more than 220,000 people — food, hygiene, and rehabilitation kits, generators, heating equipment, and materials for housing restoration.
2. Cooperation with medical and social institutions in the region has been established, equipment worth over UAH 2 million has been transferred, and projects to restore hospitals and shelters have been implemented.
3. A system of mobile medical teams and social services has been developed, providing over 39,000 consultations and 26,500 home care services.
4. Partnerships with international organizations have been strengthened — the Austrian, Luxembourg, and Danish Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which has enabled the implementation of projects worth over UAH 100 million.
5. Cooperation with authorities, communities, and the State Emergency Service was strengthened, and first aid and mine risk education training was provided to over 80,000 people.
6. A volunteer and youth movement was developed, involving over 380 volunteers, and new support spaces for young people and seniors were created.

Key decisions of the conference

The conference recognized the work of the Kyiv Regional Organization as satisfactory and adopted a number of decisions:
•approved the personal composition of the new Board consisting of 10 people;
•elected three delegates to the Congress of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine.

At the first meeting of the newly elected Board, the following were elected: Igor Prokopenko as chairman of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, Anastasia Chirkova as deputy chairwoman, and the Presidium of the Board.

Concluding the conference, the newly elected chairman, Igor Prokopenko, emphasized: “There are still many challenges ahead, but we have the most important thing — a team, the trust of communities and partners. This is what gives us the strength to move forward and remain where we are most needed.”
